Second Bone Marrow Transplant

The second and hopefully final autologous stem cell (bone marrow) transplant for Geraldine begins tomorrow, January 20th, 2009. I’ll post more info as I discover it. She will be heading to Richmond for about a month or so, and has been told that this transplant will be rougher than the first. However, I think she’ll actually fare better because of several factors such as familiarity with the process, her incredible resilience and her ability to snap back more quickly from this than the typical transplant recipient. Also, she seems more focused this time, and that will be the key to ensuring a speedy recovery. I strongly encourage everyone in her life to do whatever it takes to support her in staying focused on healing and getting through this.

    Geraldine,
First and foremost, you will always be part of my “circle”. : )
Malcom put it best when he said that being your friend has improved his life. Knowing you is one of the highlights of my adult life. You continue to motivate and entertain me. I am beyond proud to call you a friend and will continue to cheer for you to anyone that will listen. Be strong, lovey. I love you more than you know and can’t wait to see you on Sunday.

    Dear Geraldine,
you are getting nearer to the end of the tunnel and a beautiful, bright, clear sky is waiting for you. Sunny days will be shining for you and many more years to come and enjoy with Viviane, Martine, Andrew and all the ones who love and care for you.
Be strong, just as you can be. La Bonne Mère will be looking after you and waiting for your visit to her shrine in Marseille.
    Love and prosperity.

    Hello Geraldine,

Once again you head off for treatment, and I know that it will be a rough road for several weeks. All of us out here are routing for you, each in their own way, and we are many! Even though I am far away I’ll be with you in thought and spirit. We all look forward to you rejoining us to share our Lives, Laughs, and Love. Close your eyes, and I’ll reach my hand out through the Ethernet to take your hand and give it a squeeze from your loony man.

    Love,

    Harvey
